Challenge

An HR technology start-up wanted to launch a recruitment platform for small and mid-sized companies that could not afford enterprise applicant tracking systems or large in-house talent teams.

Its founders had a clear vision but no engineering team, and the market already had established players. To compete, the product needed to do more than track applicants:

Recruiters spent hours manually reading CVs for every open role.
Good candidates were lost because of slow responses and scheduling back-and-forth.
Each customer company needed its own branded careers page, pipeline and permissions.
The platform had to be secure, GDPR-ready and able to scale with subscription growth.

They needed a technology partner who could own product engineering end to end and help shape the roadmap with them.

Solution

Winklix acted as the start-up's product engineering team, delivering a multi-tenant SaaS platform in phases with AI built into the core hiring workflow.

Product discovery & UX

We ran discovery workshops with the founders and target recruiters, then designed the information architecture, workflows and a clean, modern interface for recruiters, hiring managers and candidates.

Multi-tenant SaaS core

A Next.js and Node.js platform with tenant isolation, role-based access, branded careers pages, job boards integration, pipelines and Stripe subscription billing.

AI screening & matching

Resumes are parsed into structured profiles and matched to job requirements using embeddings stored in pgvector. GPT-4o produces a short, explainable fit summary for each candidate that recruiters can review.

Automated scheduling & communication

Candidates receive timely updates and self-schedule interviews through calendar integrations, while AI drafts personalised emails for recruiters to approve.
